Hi! I’m Neleh Bayne, a Sports Media and Communications major at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln with a passion for sports marketing, storytelling, and creating meaningful connections through athletics. My college journey hasn’t been a straight line, I transferred to UNL from Illinois State University and have changed my major a few times since starting college in 2023, but each step helped me better understand what truly excites and motivates me. I’m a creative, determined, and people-oriented individual who thrives in energetic environments and loves bringing ideas to life. Whether it’s through sports media, marketing, or behind-the-scenes work that helps shape fan experiences, I’m drawn to roles that blend creativity with connection. Transferring schools and redefining my path taught me adaptability and confidence in trusting my instincts, and I carry that mindset into everything I do. I’m excited to continue growing within the sports industry, learning hands-on skills, and contributing to teams and organizations that value passion, collaboration, and a love for the game.
My career goal is to build a future in sports marketing at either the collegiate or professional level, where I can help create engaging experiences that connect fans, teams, and communities. I’m especially interested in the creative and strategic side of sports marketing; developing campaigns, telling stories, and enhancing the overall fan experience through meaningful content and innovative ideas. I’m motivated by the energy of sports environments and the impact strong marketing can have on building loyalty and excitement. As I continue to grow my skills in sports media and communications, I’m eager to gain hands-on experience, learn from industry professionals, and contribute to organizations that value creativity, teamwork, and passion for the game.
When I’m not in class, you’ll usually find me at a sporting event, baking, or spending time with people who bring good energy. I enjoy experiences that allow me to connect with others while fueling my creativity and love for sports.
